Geography
A high-quality geography education should inspire in pupils a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. Pupils should be equipped with knowledge about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes.
(National Curriculum, 2014)
At Whingate, geography is taught under the umbrella of a topic in which subject specific skills can be explored. We always aim to make it relevant and fun whilst encouraging children to deepen existing knowledge about the world they live in.
